Day 11: Dr. Funk Dunkel

The Dr. is in.

The Story:
Dr. Funk Dunkel has been grooving down to your local liquor store seasonally since 2010 when he made his initial appearance as a guest in the Showcase Pack.  'Dunkel' is actually the German word for dark, but don't panic about the chromatics if darker brews intimidate you, because Dunkels are brewed with lager yeast keeping things surprisingly bright.  This copacetic craft brew pairs well with cheeses like gruyere and parmesan, and is the perfect partner for your next fondue party. Ya dig?  Bonus points if you can tell us the three characters who inspired the Dr's groovy look..

Tasting Notes:

Pours a deep earthy brown colour with a tan head. Bold roasted aroma complemented by subtle coffee notes. Rounded malt flavours with a dry refreshing finish.

Availability:
Dr. Funk is available in his own 341mL six pack from October through April.

    1. If it doesn't please send the brewery an email at info@phillipsbeer.com. The cases were handpacked by elves (actually us humans here at the brewery), and there may have been a couple of mixups.
